In 2024 the Anchor Golf Society celebrates 62 years of enjoyable golf. All members have the opportunity to play at excellent golf courses on a regular basis, between March and October each year. Whereas most members tend to live in the Bookham , Fetcham, Effingham and East & West Horsley areas we also have members from further afield and the age range is wide !
The courses played each year do vary but are generally in and around the county of Surrey. Regular favourites include, Effingham GC, West Byfleet GC, Cuddington GC, Woking GC and New Zealand GC, with at least one course rotated with a new venue on a regular basis. The format is 18 holes of golf in the morning or afternoon followed by lunch or dinner at the Club and, to conclude, a return to the Anchor Pub Bookham.
The atmosphere at our Golf Days is always relaxed and there is excellent camaraderie. Guests of members are also very welcome and although there are prizes to compete for at each event, the highlight is often our exciting and unusual golf ball raffle.
